Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou 3 (Audio Drama)

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō 3 (サウンド・ストーリー ヨコハマ買い出し紀行 3 Sound Story Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō 3) is the third and last audio drama made for the series, released by Aniplex in December 4, 2002[1]. Around 5 years after the previous release.
It’s notable for featuring the series author Ashinano Hitoshi as the narrator for the opening episode. With the exception of part of the main cast, this drama had an entire different staff, including Choro Club, who was in charge for the soundtrack.

Announcement
Following the first two drama CD’s re-release, it was announced on the official Aniplex’s site that a new series was being produced, focusing on episodes that hasn’t appeared in the OVA, including two new original stories[2]. Iwasaki Taku, who previously worked on the second OVA and was responsible for it’s ending song, also worked on the arrangement for the cover[3].

Trivia
- Unlike its prequels, the featured stories wasn’t broadcasted on a radio show.
- The third drama CD and the second OVA were basically produced as one project.
- The CD was released first on December 4, the OVA's first episode was released on December 18[1].
- They both have the same cast. This release have different voice actors for the Uncle and Takahiro.
- The soundtrack is the same and also had Iwasaku working on some tracks. The previous release mixed new and old songs from Gontiti.
- The cover wasn't drawn by Ashinano this time, being done by the OVA illustrator, Yamagata Atsushi.
- The chapters choices keep a certain continuity with the OVA.
- Track 2 introduces Makki.
- Track 3 shows more of her relationship with Alpha and Takahiro.
- Track 7 continues where the second OVA episode ends.
- Blue Light Yokohama is a popular single by Ishida Ayumi. Being a very popular song in Yokohama city, once was chosen as the city's song on a popularity contest held in 2008[4].
- Ashinano’s participation and Shiina’s “Blue Light Yokohama” cover were also present in the announcement[2] and were heavily marketed. A few small interviews were released on this topic.[3] [5] Ashinano lines were also revealed on the web site news section.[6]
- Ashinano, jokingly, gave the staff the permission of doing other types of stories such as Alpha in a school setting or doing a part-time job, but they decided to do it faithful to the manga.[7]
