As Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou was originally written in Japanese, there have been translations into other languages. However, as translation and transcription varies by language and by style, there are multiple version of certain names and the text of the manga itself. This article is about various translation and transcription systems and how they affect the text of this manga. For a list of different translations, see (); for the text of what is actually translated, see (). This wiki generally uses wāpuro rōmaji (see below).

English

There are a few widely used transcription systems for English, most notably Hepburn romanization[1], which is widely used outside of Japan, and Kunrei-shiki romanization[2], which is widely used inside of Japan. Another major player that affects the common transliteration of "ヨコハマ買い出し紀行" in particular is wāpuro rōmaji.
