The chapter starts with Alpha picking up a broom from some sort of vendor. As she sets off on her scooter, broom in tow, it begins to rain and she reflects on how the weather refused to cooperate with her even for a moment. Suddenly, in a brilliant flash of light, her broom is struck by a flash of lightning which knocks her off her scooter, and she lay on the ground in the rain.

	As Alpha ~~repairs~~ her ~~shutters~~, ~~she hears Ojisan's tractor approaching her café with~~ a ~~trailer full~~ of ~~watermelon~~. Ojisan ~~explains~~ that ~~he is thankful for~~ her ~~supervision of Takahiro~~, and ~~offers her watermelon~~ in ~~exchange. Alpha, who loves watermelon, excitedly rushes down, and sticks out her hands to receive one before Ojisan exclaims that the entire trailer is for~~ her. Alpha ~~and Ojisan talk about how bountiful the harvest was this year~~, ~~and about how~~ Ojisan ~~has been spending the entire day trying to give watermelon away to anyone who might want some~~.		Ojisan hears the nearby lightning strike and goes to investigate. After finding Alpha, he takes her to his lifelong friend Koumi'ishi, who is a doctor of sorts. After an examination, Sensei confirms to Ojisan that the lightning had only passed over her skin, and that she will be fine after a few days in her care. After checking in on Alpha, Ojisan head home.

	Alpha ~~ends up with 12 watermelon as Ojisan drives off with his trailer still full~~. ~~Unsure~~ of ~~what~~ to ~~do with them~~, ~~she brings them into~~ the ~~café~~, ~~and tries~~ to ~~pretty them up for customers~~ by ~~putting bows on them~~. ~~Just as~~ she ~~finishes~~, ~~two customers enter~~ and ~~giggle at the watermelons. As Alpha serves them, she tries to get them~~ to take ~~a melon~~, ~~but the customers point out their truck already full of watermelons just outside the café. To end~~ the ~~chapter~~, ~~Ojisan~~ is ~~seen sitting~~ in ~~front of his gas station~~, ~~with~~ a ~~shelf full of watermelons~~. ~~Sitting at~~ a ~~table~~, Alpha ~~glances over at~~ her ~~own bow-tied watermelons~~, ~~and chuckles at herself~~.		Over the next two days, sensei replaces Alpha's damaged skin and burnt hair. After the first coat of skin, Alpha is concerned about the rough finish to it. Sensei confirms that it is just the first coat, and that after the second and finishing coat, it will be smooth as silk. Once sensei leaves, Alpha finds herself brought to tears by the kindness of those around her.

			When she is ready, Ojisan and Takahiro arrive to take her home. Takahiro, bursting through the door, finds Alpha attempting to style her new hair which is sticking up in every direction. Sensei and Ojisan follow Takahiro, and Sensei comments about how it will take roughly a week to calm down. Alpha finds herself brought to tears for a completely different reason this time.

			Hugging Sensei goodbye, Alpha and her friends head back home. The chapter ends by her giving thanks to Ojisan, who comments that she is like family to them.

Her thoughts are interrupted by Ojisan entering~~ the ~~café and greeting her~~, ~~before~~ he ~~takes~~ a ~~seat~~. ~~Alpha takes her place behind~~ the ~~counter in order to make Ojisan~~ a ~~coffee~~, ~~while Ojisan makes small talk about~~ the ~~gun on~~ the ~~table he~~ is ~~now sitting~~ at~~. Alpha reveals that it was a gift from owner~~, ~~and~~ she ~~doesn't particularly see it as a weapon, but rather a treasure~~.		The chapter starts with Takahiro at Café Alpha, chatting with Alpha over a cup of coffee. The conversation turns from small talk into the story of how Takahiro met the Osprey while searching for clams in Higata. As he was stretching, there was a large splash in front of him, and upon investigation of the scene, he saw the Osprey perched upon a rock near the shore holding a fish. After the Osprey flashed a fang-filled grin Takahiro took off running home, and curled up under his covers awake for the remainder of the night. Alpha is surprised at first, but tells Takahiro what she knows of the Osprey (much of which had been passed down to her from Owner).

The two notice it begin to rain lightly, and Takahiro rushes home on his bike - only to be caught out in a downpour. Taking refuge in a storage shed along the side of the road, Takahiro finds himself cold and alone - until he is comforted in the warm embrace of the Osprey. As he is cradled in her arms, he falls asleep.

			Takahiro then awakes in the morning in the arms of someone new - Alpha, who had found him with dry clothes in the storage shed. Takahiro recounts what had happened that night to Alpha, who discovers a long hair belonging to the Osprey on Takahiro's head. The chapter ends with the two recollecting the experience, and Alpha telling Takahiro to thank the Osprey next time he sees her (should that ever happen before he becomes an adult).
